Just one of my trials

Welcome

Welcome to my blog.  It won't change your life, but I hope it might brighten your day.
So! This is me! a 38 year old mum of one just turned 6 year old boy (more on that later!) Married to a wonderful man who works very hard running his own company and owner to Jack Russell cross who thinks he is in charge of all of us!

Let me describe my day yesterday, not my usual day - thank goodness! Yesterday was my son's 6th birthday, can't quite believed we managed to get this far!
He woke at 7 to open his presents - cue the usual "rip, glance, move on to the next one" method of un-wrapping. By 7.15 we were done.
I had, in my infinate wisdom, decided that it would be a good day to hold a Coffee /Usbourne book day.  After spending all Monday baking my table was heaving under cakes and goodies for grown-ups and children alike. Thankfully people came and there were considerably less cakes by the end of the day and they left donations in the pot which were duly passed on to a lovely local 4 year old who needs a special wheelchair for after she has her next operation for her hip displacia.
Then for the real trial of my day.....my son's Birthday tea......*gulp* If I ever mention "party" and "home" in the same sentance again - you have my persmission to section me! I didn't think it through to be honest, the odds were against us from the start.  I had a friend help out, I'm hoping she won't be avoiding me from now on.  The husband arrived home after the boys had eaten then hid in the kitchen only appearing to provide a very welcome cup of tea - obviously wine would have been more welcome but gift horses and all that.  I've never been so glad to see 6.45pm arrive.  I just wish you could have seen the dancing......Diversity don't need to worry.......yet!!
